Picking a theme for this game jam wasn't hard at all. I've been wanting to toy around with underwater for a long time. This was a fantastic excuse to buckle down and get my feet wet.

I'm excited about the number of mechanics i Intend on implementing, which wont have the player exclusively underwater for the duration of the game. It'll be scary. and I intend on making your booty cheeks clench as you play.

Progress so far:
Character Controller: Land and Water locomotion, with swimming!
An inventory system: for collecting things.. like keys or resources, like oxygen tanks.
Underwater post processing, because... ambiance is where it's at!
Music: and underwater sounds for deeper ambiance.
FISH! :the fish are kind of my pride and joy right now. They swim in pods. If they see each other, they'll group up, designate a leader, and follow it. Sometimes they will separate from the leader and act independently. They are mostly just an aesthetic stroke in the environment, but to make the underwater feel alive.. I think it's important.. and don't mind me if I come up with an excuse to make a fish randomly turn into something else and jump scare you when your oxygen gets low and you start to hallucinate.
