EverFantasy Overview

EverFantasy is a turn-based, run-based RPG built around assembling a custom party of heroes, each with unique stats, abilities, and potential synergies. Strategic party composition is a core part of success, with each hero contributing to the overall battle plan.

Between battles, players explore a large overworld inspired by classic JRPGs, traveling on foot, by boat, and by airship to uncover new locations, events, and challenges. Exploration and combat are closely linked, with what you find in the world influencing your party’s growth and options.

In combat, attack order flows from the back row to the front row, allowing the player to deliberately set up sequences of actions. A hero’s abilities change depending on their position in the formation: front row abilities for aggressive, direct attacks, back row abilities for supportive or ranged actions, and non-positional abilities that can be used from their designated positions. This makes formation a critical tactical choice before and during battle.

Key mechanics:

• Party Building – Recruit and arrange heroes to create synergistic teams that suit your strategy for each run.

• Positional Abilities – Each hero’s skill set changes depending on whether they are in the front row, back row, or using a non-positional ability.

• Chained Actions – Position-based actions can link together into combos, with later effects building off earlier ones in the sequence.

• Multi-Enemy Encounters – Battles can feature multiple opponents at once, enabling targeted strikes, spread effects, and strategic focus-firing.

• Boons & Banes – Status effects that boost or weaken Attack, Defense, Health, or Speed. Effects can stack and expire based on turn count or conditions.

• Roguelike Permadeath – When your party falls, the run ends, the world resets, and you start fresh, carrying forward only what’s earned between runs.

The result is a tactical adventure where formation, party synergy, and ability sequencing decide your fate, and every journey across the overworld brings you closer to — or further from — victory.
